Hermes
Hermes is a location and navigation platform for blind or visually impaired travelers, designed to work just as well on rivers and streams as it does on city streets. Released under the GNU Affero General Public License, Hermes uses a broad range of technologies from location providers to social networks in order to offer highly-accurate, context-sensitive location information.
Hermes currently consists of the following components:
- Core: A library that abstracts map loading/description functionality across projects.
- Web: A browser-based map explorer, as well as a web service for mobile apps.
- Android: An app for the Android platform.
Currently there is no public release, but if you're interested in obtaining the code or helping out then check out the instructions on contributing.
